Registering
Frequently asked questions
How much clinical experience do I need?
We require all locum and permanent applicants to have relevant industry experience. Nursing: 12 months post-graduate UK experience. Health science (HSS): 6–12 months post-graduate UK experience. Allied health (AHP): post-graduate UK experience.
Do I need to register before I can be offered work?
It depends on your profession. Nursing staff need to be fully registered and compliant before we can offer shifts. For allied health and health science clinicians (including biomedical scientists), we can start looking for roles while you complete your registration. You must be fully compliant before you start on site.
How does the registration process work?
We use a modern, paperless registration process, which makes compliance quicker and easier for you. Start with our 30-second quick registration and a specialist will call you to take you through the rest.
What are the terms of registering with Pure?
All terms and conditions are in our candidate handbook, which you can download from the Documents page.
Compliance
Frequently asked questions
All my bank statements and bills are online. What can I use as proof of address?
We can only accept physical (paper) copies as proof of address. We accept: bank statement, credit card statement, gas, electricity or energy bill, mortgage statement, council tax bill, firearms licence, or a letter from HMRC.
Why do I need to provide proof of immunisations?
Depending on your role and the occupational health requirements, you will be asked to provide proof of immunity in line with Department of Health guidelines.
I can't find my DBS certificate. Can you accept confirmation that it's on the Update Service?
No. We always need to see the physical DBS certificate. If you do not have it, you will need to apply for a new one.
Why would I need an overseas police check?
You need one if you have lived outside the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. Your compliance officer can help you obtain one.
Why do I need to update my documents every year?
Compliance must be renewed yearly so your information and documents stay up to date, in line with NHS framework standards. This includes your registration form and criminal record check (DBS).
Shifts, timesheets & pay
Frequently asked questions
What is your timesheet and payment process?
We run a weekly payroll and you are paid a week in arrears. Send your timesheet to timesheets@purehealthcare.co.uk by 5pm on Tuesday, copying in your consultant. You can download a blank timesheet from the Documents page.
What do I do if I need to cancel a shift?
We ask for your full commitment to every shift you accept, but we understand some things are out of your control. If you need to cancel, give us 24–48 hours’ notice by phone, and always follow up by email with your name, the shift and the reason.
What happens if a hospital cancels my shift?
We will always call you as soon as possible to explain why. If a shift is cancelled within 12 hours of the start time, we will work to make sure you receive a minimum of 2 hours’ pay. We do not work with clients who regularly cancel locum staff, and we investigate every cancellation to protect our locums.
Where do you supply healthcare professionals?
Nationwide across the UK, plus the Channel Islands and the Republic of Ireland.
Do you supply public and private healthcare services?
Yes: NHS trusts, private hospitals, clinics, community settings, custodial healthcare services and local authorities.
